Smart Meter Announces Power Management Solutions for Home Offices, Appliances, and Residential and Commercial LED Lighting
ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq: ONNN, Vice President for Korea and Southeast Asia: Sung-Hyuk Jeon), a provider of high-performance silicon solutions for energy-efficient electronics, has expanded its portfolio of AC-DC power solutions for consumer electronics by introducing the NCP1234 and NCP1236, a family of fixed frequency pulse width modulation (PWM) current mode controllers. These solutions are used in AC-DC adapters for laptop computers, LCD displays, printers, and home consumer electronics.

The NCP1234 and NCP1236 product families are designed to integrate high-performance offline power supplies into systems while minimizing essential footprint and board space. Utilizing high-voltage process technology, these products integrate various functions such as overpower compensation, input voltage sensing (NCP1236 only), and ramp compensation without increasing power loss or adding external components. High voltage Dynamic Self-Supply (DSS) technology eliminates the need for start resistors, allowing for direct connection to line voltage. Combined with the products' characteristic of automatically reducing frequency before entering skip mode under low load, this technology ensures maximum efficiency across the entire load range.
