All LG Ultra OLED TV models recognized as 'Ultra HD Premium'
Each pixel emits its own light without a backlight, displaying perfect black.



LG Electronics' Ultra OLED TV has been recognized for its overwhelming picture quality by the UHD Alliance.

On the 5th, the 'UHD Alliance' recognized four models across two LG Ultra OLED TV series (model names: 77G6, 65G6, 65E6, 55E6) as meeting the 'Ultra HD Premium' standard. The four Ultra OLED TVs are scheduled to be unveiled for the first time at 'CES 2016,' the world's largest consumer electronics show.

'Ultra HD Premium' is a picture quality standard that recognizes a TV as the best, surpassing existing picture quality in every aspect, including High Dynamic Range (HDR), contrast ratio, color reproduction, and brightness. HDR is a technology that delivers a much sharper and more vivid image by making dark areas darker and bright areas brighter.

LG OLED TVs can express perfect black because each pixel emits light on its own without a backlight, maximizing the HDR effect. The colors closest to nature and a perfect viewing angle with no color distortion regardless of the viewing angle are the unrivaled strengths of OLED.

The 'UHD Alliance' is an alliance of about 30 companies from around the world, including TV manufacturers and video content producers, that creates various standards and technologies related to Ultra HD, including HDR.
