Launch of Vector 180 and Entry-level SSD Trion 100

OCZ Storage Solutions (hereinafter OCZ), which has been continuing its expansion in the SSD sector following its merger with NAND Flash manufacturer Toshiba, has selected Incom CNC Co., Ltd. as its domestic solid-state drive (hereinafter SSD) supplier and is once again gearing up to target the domestic market. Incom CNC Co., Ltd. (CEO Won Chung-yeon) announced on the 7th that it has completed the selection process for OCZ's domestic supplier and will launch the 'Vector 180' series and 'Trion 100' series in the domestic market.

OCZ, launched by Incom CNC, has been known among hardware enthusiasts for its high-end, tuned, and overclocked products. After merging with Toshiba, which manufactures fast and stable NAND flash memory, the company changed its name to OCZ Storage Solutions and is accelerating its efforts to target the storage market, including SSDs.

The OCZ Vector 180 series is an SSD with top-tier specifications for enthusiasts, offering read speeds of up to 550MB/s and write speeds of up to 530MB/s. The industry evaluates that it captures both powerful performance and durability by employing Toshiba’s A19nm Multi-Level Cell (MLC) NAND flash memory, known as the fastest and most stable in the world, and a proprietary controller based on Barefoot 3. In particular, it has an excellent ability to maintain performance even after prolonged drive use, and its durability is so high that it will remain problem-free for five years even if 50GB of data is used daily. In addition, the five-year free warranty is a major advantage.

The Trion 100 series, released alongside it, is an entry-level model based on eTLC NAND flash. This product also utilizes Toshiba's high-quality eTLC NAND flash manufactured using the 2nd generation A19nm process. With read performance reaching 550MB/s and write performance at 530MB/s, consumers rate it as the fastest among TLC-based entry-level SSDs. In particular, Incom CNC explained that the product is highly preferred by consumers as it has cleanly overcome the write performance and lifespan issues previously raised regarding existing TLC products.

Both products feature a standard aluminum case for enhanced durability and an elegant design. With a 2.5-inch size and a thin thickness of just 7mm, they can be widely used in devices ranging from PCs to laptops. A 3.5” bracket is also included for consumers who wish to install them in existing desktop PCs.
