Intel Wins Major Awards at CES 2016

Intel announced that its innovative technologies and collaborative products showcased at CES 2016, which took place last week, have won awards. Intel stated that it presented innovative products in various fields including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), wearables, and new PCs and tablets at the CES event.Engadget, PC Magazine, The Verge, and Videomaker selected Yuneec's Typhoon H, powered by Intel® Atom™ processors, as the Best Drone at CES 2016. Yuneec's Typhoon H incorporates Intel's 3D sensing technology, Intel® RealSense™, to provide a "follow-me" mode for collision avoidance capabilities, and is equipped with a 4K camera. CNET, Gizmodo, and Reuters also included the Typhoon H in their CES Best Products lists.
Additionally, PBS, Reuters, and Wired selected Ninebot's Segway robot, powered by Intel Atom processors, in the CES Best Awards category. The Ninebot Segway robot, which can transform from a personal mobility device into a robot, uses Intel RealSense technology to navigate even in complex environments and can intelligently interact with users.
Intel noted that in the wearables category, DAQRI's Smart Helmet, based on Intel® Core™ M processors and incorporating Intel RealSense technology, was included in BGR's Most Innovative Products at CES 2016, and Engadget selected Empire EVS, based on Recon's Snow2 Head-Up Display (HUD), as the Best Wearable device. Additionally, Empire Paintball stated that through collaboration with Recon Instruments, Intel's subsidiary, it was able to create a smart paintball mask that allows users to view actual terrain information at a glance.
Intel-Based Products Win Honors Across Multiple Categories
Among other awards across various fields, Intel's new Compute Stick, equipped with 6th generation Intel Core M processors or the latest quad-core Intel Atom processors, received the Editor's Choice award from USA Today's Reviewed.com and also won the CES Best Award from Computer Shopper.
Additionally, new Intel-based PCs and tablets won CES Innovation Awards, and various media outlets including Android Central, Digital Trends, GottaBeMobile, Laptop, Mashable, Men's Health, Men's Journal, Notebooks.com, Popular Mechanics, SlashGear, The Verge, Techlicious, TechnoBuffalo, TechRadar, Tom's Guide, and Tom's Hardware recognized the excellence of these products through various awards.
Product manufacturers that earned awards with enhanced performance through Intel's best-in-history 6th generation Intel Core processors include Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, LG, Lenovo, Razer, Samsung, and Toshiba.
The various innovations Intel showcased at CES 2016 signal the beginning of new and exciting experiences to be brought forward by Intel. Going forward, Intel plans to develop innovative technologies for diverse fields spanning sports, gaming, health and wellness, and artistic creation.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.

Ecolab Expands AI Data Center Cooling Business Through Acquisition of CoolIT
Ecolab has agreed to acquire CoolIT Systems, a liquid cooling company for AI data centers, for approximately $4.75 billion. The transaction is expected to close by Q3 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. CoolIT has been supplying direct-to-chip cooling-based coolant distribution units, cold plates, and manifolds, serving hyperscale data centers and colocation operators as customers. This acquisition is a measure to address the high-heat and high-density server environments created by AI proliferation. Ecolab plans to combine its water management and digital monitoring capabilities with CoolIT's hardware technology to expand its data center cooling business.
