Toshiba Announces Availability of High-Level Read Enhanced Enterprise SAS SSDs

Toshiba Corporation’s Semiconductor & Storage Products Company announced today the availability of the new PX04SL series, a very read-intensive enterprise SAS solid-state drive (SAS). The PX04SL series is optimized for read-intensive application workloads such as data warehousing, web servers, media streaming, and video-on-demand. Sample rollout begins today.
The PX04SL series offers the most cost-effective solution among the PX04S generation of Toshiba's SAS interface enterprise SSDs. Supporting 2TB and 4TB capacities, the PX04SL series minimizes the total cost of ownership (TCO) while maintaining performance.
The PX04SL series, achieving 270K IOPS[2] of random read performance, helps read-intensive application workloads achieve optimal results. In addition, by utilizing high-density storage with efficient data throughput to resolve bottlenecks, it provides high performance, reliability, and durability for maximum application scalability.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers.
