Ranked 1st in Electrical Equipment sector

Schneider Electric announced that it has been selected for the fourth consecutive year in the '2016 Global Top 100 Sustainable Companies' at the World Economic Forum being held in Davos, Switzerland. Schneider Electric recorded its highest-ever score, ranking 1st in the Electrical Equipment sector and 12th overall.

The World Economic Forum has been publishing the 'Global Top 100 Sustainable Companies' rankings annually through Canada's business publication Corporate Knights. Based on 4,353 global companies with a market capitalization of $2 billion or more, it evaluates 12 sustainability indicators such as revenue per unit of energy consumption and selects companies demonstrating the strongest sustainability capabilities in each industry sector. This year, Schneider Electric ranked 1st in the 'Electrical Equipment' sector and achieved the highest ranking among the 11 French companies listed.

Jean-Pascal Tricoire, CEO of Schneider Electric, said in his remarks, "Following last year's score of 68.4%, this year we achieved a score of 70.5%, recording our own highest score in the history of the 'Global Top 100 Sustainable Business' rankings. This demonstrates that Schneider Electric has continuously made efforts toward sustainable development."

Schneider Electric has been recognized in various major sustainability indicators including the 'Carbon Disclosure Project A-List & the Climate Disclosure Leadership Index', 'the Dow Jones SustainabilityTM World & Europe Indices', and 'World's Most Ethical Companies©' selected by the Ethisphere Institute, a U.S. business ethics research organization. Additionally, since 2005, the company has independently established and disclosed results through its 'Planet & Society Barometer' to practice sustainability management. At COP21 held in Paris in November of last year, the company announced 10 sustainability commitments and pledged to achieve carbon neutrality in all its plants and facilities within 15 years.
