Schneider Electric announced that it has been selected as the winner in the Modular Deployment category at the DatacenterDynamics Leaders EMEA Award, presented by DatacenterDynamics, a prestigious professional media outlet in the data center field. Schneider Electric received this award in recognition of its technological prowess in successfully deploying a micro data center at the Sagrada Familia.

The Sagrada Familia Cathedral in Barcelona, Spain, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a representative tourist attraction of Barcelona, famous for the fact that construction began in 1882 and is still ongoing. Taking these unique characteristics into account, Schneider Electric designed and manufactured a micro data center that can be moved as needed.

The advantage of a micro data center is that it offers short deployment times and does not disrupt the construction site, as racks, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), power distribution, cooling, and management equipment are all pre-assembled and delivered to the site in a modular form that allows for immediate deployment. The micro data center installed at the Sagrada Familia was designed to enhance durability and security, and its electrical and mechanical connections are easily detachable, allowing for adjustment according to the data center modules and indoor infrastructure components. Schneider Electric provided these integrated micro data center solutions, enabling field operators to maintain the cathedral's security and effectively manage the millions of tourists visiting annually.
