Newly Appointed Seoul Environmental Energy Planning Officer Visits Electric Vehicle Car-sharing Site and Test Drives Vehicle

Citika (CEO: Park Yeon-jung, www.citycar.co.kr), a subsidiary of LG CNS operating an electric vehicle car-sharing service jointly with Seoul, announced on the 22nd that it has conducted an on-site visit to Seoul's electric vehicle car-sharing facility.

On the morning of the 21st at 9:30 AM, a Citika test drive event was held in the underground parking lot of Sejong-ro Park in Jung-gu, Seoul, attended by Kim Seon-soon, Seoul's Environmental Energy Planning Officer, Citika CEO Park Yeon-jung, and Choi Chul-woong, Head of the Green Car Distribution Team. The event was held for Kim Seon-soon, the Environmental Energy Planning Officer who took office in January this year, to observe the current status of Seoul's electric vehicle car-sharing service.

After test driving around the Gwanghwamun area for approximately 30 minutes in sub-zero temperatures of minus 13 degrees Celsius, Kim Seon-soon, Seoul's Environmental Energy Planning Officer, remarked, "Having driven an electric vehicle myself, I was impressed by the absence of noise and the excellent ride quality," and stated, "Seoul is making various efforts for greenhouse gas reduction in accordance with the Paris Climate Agreement."

He also said, "Electric vehicles are one of those efforts, and we plan to actively support citizens in utilizing electric vehicles more extensively."

Citika was selected as Seoul's electric vehicle car-sharing operator in 2012 and has been providing the electric vehicle car-sharing service 'Citika' since 2013. Currently, Citika operates approximately 350 electric vehicles, including Kia Ray EV and Renault Samsung SM3 ZE, at approximately 120 Citizones.

Citika CEO Park Yeon-jung stated, "With Seoul's cooperation, we have been able to successfully provide electric vehicle car-sharing service to citizens," and added, "Particularly this year, as interest in electric vehicles is rising, we anticipate this will be a year of growth, and we hope Seoul will make efforts to build infrastructure for expanding electric vehicle distribution."
