Stylus pen made of nano-coated fiber material, enabling precise writing

LG Electronics will unveil the 'Stylus 2', a smartphone that allows users to experience premium handwriting features at a reasonable price, at the 'Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016' held in Barcelona, Spain this month.

LG Electronics has implemented the tip of the 'Stylus Pen' of the 'Stylus 2' using a thin, nano-coated fiber material instead of the conventional rubber, allowing for precise writing with the feel of a real pen. In particular, the 'Stylus 2' adds an analog sensibility by setting the 'Calligraphy Pen Type,' which provides the writing feel of a fountain pen, as the default font.

The 'Stylus 2' is characterized by providing an easy and convenient user experience (UX) through premium handwriting features. It is equipped with differentiated premium UX, such as the 'Pen Menu,' which automatically displays a relevant menu when the pen is removed; 'Instant Memo,' which allows users to take notes directly on the screen even when the screen is off; and 'Pen Guardian,' which prevents the loss of the 'Stylus Pen' by utilizing the phone's accelerometer.

Despite being a 5.7-inch large-screen smartphone, the 'Stylus 2' features a light and slim design with a weight of 145g and a thickness of 7.4mm. LG Electronics enhanced the sophistication of the design by applying a 'Spin Hairline pattern' to the rear cover of the product. In addition, the product's edges are finished with a metallic-looking frame, giving it a luxurious feel.

LG Electronics plans to sequentially launch the 'Stylus 2' in global markets, starting with Korea and the U.S. in March, followed by Europe and Asia.
