Supports pre-authenticated mobile wallet and transportation card services

NXP Semiconductors announced that, together with Qualcomm Technologies, it has combined industry-leading Near Field Communication (NFC) and embedded security chip (eSE) solutions with the Qualcomm Snapdragon™ 800, 600, 400, and 200 processor platforms. This end-to-end solution includes pre-authentication for mobile payment services, such as transit cards and payments.

To meet the growing demand for mobile payments, mobile device manufacturers must be able to rapidly scale their solutions to meet market needs. Through the collaboration between NXP and Qualcomm Technologies, mobile manufacturers have been able to shorten time-to-market and benefit from the growing mobile payment industry.

In 2015, NXP and Qualcomm Technologies announced a strategic collaboration to accelerate NFC adoption and secure mobile, wearable, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices. As NFC and eSE capabilities are pre-certified as part of Qualcomm Technologies' reference designs, manufacturers can easily integrate NFC. This represents an expansion of the two companies' pre-technology integration collaboration. This collaboration focused specifically on mobile transportation card solutions for China's top 10 cities.
