'Galaxy S6 Edge' and 'Gear S2' Receive Awards

Samsung Electronics' 'Galaxy S6 Edge' and 'Gear S2' won the Best Smartphone and Best Connected Device awards presented by the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA) at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 held in Barcelona, Spain on the 23rd (local time).

The GSMA selects the most innovative smart devices released to date that have gained significant consumer favor and announces them as the best products.

The 'Galaxy S6 Edge' received recognition for presenting a new standard in smartphones by showcasing beautiful and meaningful design through a perfect harmony of metal and glass materials, and incorporating world-class technologies such as a powerful camera, display, processor, wireless charging, and Samsung Pay.

The 'Gear S2' has received high praise from consumers and media following its first public introduction at IFA last year, thanks to its beautiful circular design and innovative yet convenient usability achieved through rotating wheel operation.

Recently, new 'Gear S2 Classic' models have also been launched, finished with 18K (75% gold content) rose gold and 100% platinum materials, combining the innovative usability of a smart watch with the design value of luxury timepieces.
