New ultra-low power MSP430 value line MCU

TI Korea (CEO Jaejin Kim, www.ti.com/ww/kr ) January 27, 2011 – TI, continuously striving to provide more low-cost options for 8-bit developers, announced 64 new ultra-low-power MSP430 Value Line microcontrollers (MCUs) that deliver 16-bit performance at the price of an 8-bit MCU. These new MSP430G2xx2 MCUs include integrated capacitive touch I/O, allowing developers to interface directly with capacitive touchpads without the need for additional hardware or components. Furthermore, the expansion of the MSP430 MCU Value Line provides additional package and memory options, offering developers increased design flexibility. With TI’s $4.30 LaunchPad development kit, free software, and a diverse third-party support network, the G2xx2 MCUs enable a simple and cost-effective upgrade of 8-bit applications to 16-bit performance.
