ams announced the appointment of Alexander Everke as its new CEO. Alexander Everke, who has worked in the semiconductor industry for over 24 years, joined ams's board of directors last October as the CEO nominee.

New CEO Alexander Eberke previously served as a senior executive at Siemens, Infineon, and NXP. Prior to joining ams, he was a member of NXP's management team as a Senior Vice President and also served as the General Manager of NXP's Multi-Market Semiconductor, High Performance Mixed-Signal, and Infrastructure/Industrial business units. CEO Eberke holds master's degrees in Electrical Engineering and International Business. "It is a great honor to lead ams at a time when the role of sensors is becoming increasingly important in almost every aspect of daily life, from smartphones to wearables, IoT devices, industrial applications, and connected cars. Moving forward, ams will achieve greater growth by leveraging its leading portfolio of sensor technologies," said CEO Alexander Eberke.

Former CEO Kirk Laney will continue to serve as the head of sensor business strategy and as a member of the board. During the tenure of CEO Kirk Laney, ams pursued a strategy focused on sensor solutions, achieving record growth as a leader in the sensor and analog IC fields.
