Purpose of proactive steps toward SD-WAN innovation

Riverbed Technology announced the appointment of Jin-Suk Byun, former President of ktNexR and Symantec Korea, as the new Country Manager for Riverbed Korea. President Byun will oversee all business operations in the Korean market, including driving Riverbed's growth and expansion strategies for the domestic market, conducting sales and marketing activities, and establishing, maintaining, and strengthening cooperation with customers and partners. President Jinseok Byun will report to Bjorn Engelhardt, Senior Vice President and Head of Business for Asia Pacific and Japan at Riverbed.



Bjorn Englehart, Senior Vice President for Asia Pacific and Japan, stated, “Riverbed has conducted a highly successful business over the past decade since entering Korea in 2005, and now, as we enter the new Riverbed 2.0 era, we intend to take proactive steps toward SD-WAN innovation built upon the strong foundation of the Riverbed Application Performance Platform.” He added, “At this critical juncture, President Jin-seok Byun’s exceptional leadership and business capabilities will provide another momentum for Riverbed’s further advancement.”

He also added, “I expect that President Jin-seok Byun’s accumulated expertise in various IT fields, including networking and security, as well as his experience in business development and management, will make a significant contribution to Riverbed’s success and continued growth in Korea.”

President Jin-seok Byun has accumulated over 20 years of experience in various fields, including management, strategic investment, organizational structure, and growth strategy formulation, along with extensive knowledge of diverse industrial sectors, including IT. Prior to Riverbed, he served as CEO of ktNexR, a subsidiary of KT Group, and achieved remarkable business results while serving as Country Manager at Arista Networks and Symantec Korea. In addition, during his time at ABS Ventures in the U.S., he was deeply involved in venture incubation and fostering startups, including successfully launching companies such as Qualys and AirPrism into the market.

President Jin-seok Byun majored in business administration at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas, and earned a Doctor of Laws degree from the same university.
