EMC Korea has launched 'VMAX All Flash,' the world's first All Flash Array (AFA) that supports block, file, open system, and mainframe modes. Based on the powerful data services, performance, and stability of VMAX, a leader in the storage industry, VMAX All Flash is a completely redesigned product tailored to the characteristics of the latest V-NAND-based SSDs.

VMAX All-Flash is based on the latest V-NAND SSDs with the highest capacity, featuring outstanding speed, high density, and a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) compared to traditional disk storage. In particular, its high speed and stability provide the optimal environment for the mission-critical tasks most important to enterprises. VMAX All-Flash achieves bandwidth of up to 150GB per second and supports millions of IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second), while maintaining response latency of less than 1ms (millisecond). Boasting 99.9999% availability, it includes various data protection and recovery services, including EMC SRDF, an industry-standard remote replication solution.

VMAX All Flash, expandable up to 4 PB (petabytes), is introduced in two models: 'VMAX All Flash 450' and 'VMAX All Flash 850'. The individual node, 'V-Brick,' contains a single VMAX engine and has a capacity of 53 terabytes (TB). Scale-out expansion is easily possible by adding V-Bricks in a building block manner. The VMAX All-Flash 450 consists of 1 to 4 V-Bricks, while the VMAX All-Flash 850 allows for the addition of up to 8 V-Bricks. Additionally, capacity can be added on an individual basis by adding 13 TB of available capacity packages from each V-Brick.

Includes millions of IOPS, maintaining latency of 1ms or less, 99.9999% availability, and data protection and recovery solutions.

Furthermore, VMAX All-Flash enables the planned and cost-effective operation of IT infrastructure by applying EMC's maintenance cost program, 'EMC Expect More'. The Expect More program provides fixed maintenance rates for the entire product lifespan and guarantees SSD durability, helping to systematically plan IT budgets and lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

The software configuration of VMAX All-Flash is broadly divided into the basic 'F-Package' and the additional 'FX-Package'. The F-package includes thin provisioning, Quality of Service (QoS), EMC Unisphere for easy management of storage resources, support for VMware Virtual Volumes (VVols), SnapVX local snapshot replication technology, and EMC AppSync for easy self-service management of replicated data.

The FX package includes VMAX remote replication software 'EMC SRDF', data encryption software 'D@RE (Data at Rest)', software-defined storage 'EMC ViPR' which provides automated provisioning, management, and monitoring, 'EMC CloudArray' which automatically classifies data and moves infrequently used data to the cloud, 'EMC eNAS' technology for file storage, and 'EMC Unisphere360' which can manage up to 200 VMAX arrays.

In addition, by adding the data protection solution 'EMC ProtectPoint' to VMAX All Flash, data backups can be performed between VMAX and the backup appliance 'EMC Data Domain' without the need for a separate backup server. This approach not only simplifies the backup environment but also prevents bottlenecks associated with traditional backup methods.

VMAX All-Flash supports various ecosystem environments including Oracle, VMware, Microsoft, and OpenStack, and also supports proprietary systems such as IBM mainframes and iSeries. It also provides Restful APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) to support the implementation of software-defined data centers and integration between platforms.
