Strengthening LG U+ Solution 'U+ Biz Skype'
LG U+ and Microsoft, the world's leading global office solutions company, have joined hands to establish comprehensive cooperation systems for joint advancement of future new growth business initiatives.
LG U+ announced that it will strengthen business cooperation and technical collaboration with Microsoft across diverse new ICT industry sectors including cloud platforms, 'U+ Biz Skype', and big data.
Accordingly, by combining the strengths possessed by both companies centered on LG U+'s telecommunications and ICT technology domains and Microsoft's cloud service platforms, it is expected to create a turning point where not only existing collaborative projects are strengthened but also new growth business models are jointly identified to preempt new markets.
Based on Microsoft's 'Skype for Business', LG U+ launched its integrated unified communications solution for business operations 'U+ Biz Skype' in September of last year, and both companies have decided to further strengthen technical and business cooperation.
Pursuing Business Diversification with Latest ICT Technology
Discovering New Business Models Capable of Generating Synergy
In particular, based on latest ICT technologies such as ▲cloud ▲big data ▲machine learning, both companies will pursue business diversification and jointly identify new business models capable of generating synergy across diverse fields including ▲Office 365-linked business.
To this end, both companies held a strategic partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony for 'joint advancement of cloud-based new growth business' and shared business plans at the Korea Microsoft headquarters on the 4th, with approximately 50 attendees including LG U+ Vice Chairman Kwon Young-su and Korea Microsoft CEO Go Soon-dong.
LG U+ Vice Chairman Kwon Young-su stated, "We expect that the Memorandum of Understanding with Microsoft will not only further strengthen the cooperative relationship between the two companies regarding 'U+ Biz Skype,' but will also enable us to create comprehensive synergy between the two companies in new business sectors."
Korea Microsoft CEO Go Soon-dong said, "We are pleased to expand our partnership with LG U+ regarding IT new growth business models. Through LG U+'s leadership in ICT and telecommunications sectors combined with Microsoft's latest technologies such as machine learning and big data, we will cooperate to enable more people to work and live in better ways."

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. Ecolab Expands AI Data Center Cooling Business Through Acquisition of CoolIT
Ecolab has agreed to acquire CoolIT Systems, a liquid cooling company for AI data centers, for approximately $4.75 billion. The transaction is expected to close by Q3 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. CoolIT has been supplying direct-to-chip cooling-based coolant distribution units, cold plates, and manifolds, serving hyperscale data centers and colocation operators as customers. This acquisition is a measure to address the high-heat and high-density server environments created by AI proliferation. Ecolab plans to combine its water management and digital monitoring capabilities with CoolIT's hardware technology to expand its data center cooling business.
