Selection of Most Ethical Companies Based on Five Indicators:
Ethics and Legal Compliance Programs, Management Structure, Corporate Social Responsibility, and More

Schneider Electric announced that it has been selected for the sixth consecutive year as a 'World's Most Ethical Company (WME 2016)' by the Ethisphere Institute, a leading U.S.-based corporate ethics research organization that specializes in researching and investigating corporate social ethics responsibilities.

The Ethisphere Institute annually selects the most ethical companies based on five criteria: 'Ethics and Legal Compliance Programs,' 'Management Structure,' 'Corporate Social Responsibility and Accountability,' 'Ethics Culture,' and 'Reputation, Leadership & Innovation.' This year, 131 companies across 21 countries were selected.

Jean-Pascal Tricoire, Chairman of Schneider Electric, stated, "I am very proud to be selected as an ethical company for six consecutive years," and added, "Schneider Electric applies ethical standards higher than legal requirements in accordance with our corporate values. Moving forward, we will commit to transparent business operations for our customers and become a company that contributes to global society."

Schneider Electric positions ethics awareness and governance as core drivers of corporate growth and competitiveness, and has developed a common guideline called 'Our Principles of Responsibility,' which systematizes employees' responsible conduct guidelines. This guideline is continuously updated across various sectors including procurement, quality, and environment. 'Our Principles of Responsibility' is based on Schneider Electric's governance, the ten principles of the UN Global Compact, the UN Declaration of Human Rights, and international labor standards, and is translated into 30 languages worldwide for distribution to all Schneider Electric employees.

Furthermore, Schneider Electric has established a separate internal program called 'Responsibility & Ethics Dynamics' to help employees effectively address various ethics issues they may face in the future. Through this program, regular internal training and assessments related to relevant content are conducted with employees, and the assessment scores have been utilized since 2015 as an ethics indicator in the 'Planet & Society Barometer,' a performance measurement index for Schneider Electric's sustainable development. As of the end of 2015, 88% of Schneider Electric employees worldwide passed the 'Responsibility & Ethics' assessment.
