Fortinet Korea announced today that its next-generation firewall has received an NSS Labs 'Recommended' rating based on the results of NSS Labs' next-generation firewall (NGFW) comparison analysis report.

NSS Lab regularly tests the security efficiency, network performance, and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) of industry-leading NGFW vendors through real-world scenarios, and publishes Security Value Maps (SVM) and comparative analysis reports based on these results.

In NSS Labs' NGFW live tests, Fortinet recorded the highest defense rate by blocking 99.97% of exploit attacks used by threat actors in active campaigns during the live test period from December 1, 2015, to January 31, 2016.

Fortinet's FortiGate 3200D enterprise firewall, which was tested this time, passed 100% of the stability and reliability tests, evasion detection tests, firewall policy and application tests, and took the lead in performance, efficiency, and value assessment. FortiGate earned a 'Recommended' rating from NSS Labs, demonstrating unwavering leadership in security efficiency, network performance, and value.

NSS Labs conducts Cyber Assessment Warning System (CAWS) tests to evaluate various competing solutions facing hundreds of attacks daily. This highly rigorous test assesses the true day-to-day efficiency of security solutions and serves as a valuable resource for customers to verify tangible results before product adoption. According to the CAWS results, Fortinet demonstrated the highest overall blocking rate by blocking 100% of attacks on 61 out of 62 days, and recorded a total blocking rate of 99.97% for live exploits.

This result is one of several test results demonstrating Fortinet's technological capabilities. In addition, Fortinet has received 'recommendations' from NSS Labs for its FortiSandbox Breach Detection System (BDS), FortiGuard Next Generation Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), FortiGate Enterprise Firewall, FortiClient Endpoint Protection, and FortiWeb Web Application Firewalls (WAF). This result once again confirms that Fortinet customers can build the best security platform from endpoints to the cloud.
