Announcement of Triple Manufacturing Capacity Expansion for TrueTouch Touchscreen Controller Family!
Cypress Korea (Country Manager Young-do Lim, www.cypress.com ) announced that it is expanding manufacturing capacity for its rapidly growing TrueTouch touchscreen controllers.
Cypress’s Fab 4 in Bloomington, Minnesota, and its major foundry partner, Grace Semiconductor, will triple capacity for the S8™ manufacturing process from 2010 levels. This expansion schedule, with the initial additional capacity scheduled for the first quarter of 2011, is set for full completion in the third quarter of 2011.
In addition to TrueTouch products, Cypress also manufactures its PSoC® 3 and PSoC 5, CapSense, and NVSRAM products on the S8 process. Cypress's S8 process is based on 0.13-micron SONOS (Silicon Oxide Nitride Oxide Silicon) embedded non-volatile memory technology. SONOS is compatible with standard CMOS technology and offers many advantages, including high durability, low power consumption, and radiation hardness. Furthermore, SONOS provides a more robust, manufacturable, and cost-effective solution compared to other embedded non-volatile memory technologies.
As it is widely adopted on mobile phones, tablets, and other large-screen platforms, Cypress TrueTouch
Cypress is actively working to ensure a stable, sufficient, and timely supply of products.
In addition, preparing next-generation PSoC and CapSense products for growth this year.
