High-efficiency flyback controller and FET driver that simplifies power design for low-voltage, secondary rectification
TI Launches Green Rectifier™ Controller for 5V Power Supplies
TI Korea (CEO Jaejin Kim, www.ti.com/ww/kr ) January 4, 2011 – TI has released a power management controller/driver capable of driving standard and logic-level N-channel MOSFETs for low-voltage, secondary-side synchronous rectification. The UCC24610 Green Rectifier™ controller improves power delivery efficiency by up to 5% and reduces primary-side power loss in 5V AC/DC adapters and bias power supplies. The 600kHz UCC24610 Green Rectifier provides power savings and design flexibility not offered by conventional diode rectifier solutions. It also maximizes efficiency through features such as micro-sleep current, automatic light-load management, and synchronous wake-up. Utilizing drain-to-source voltage sensing, the UCC24610 supports various power architectures, including flyback and LLC resonant converters, offering designers greater flexibility.
Key Features and Advantages of UCC24610
• Small size and minimal number of external parts
• High Performance and High Efficiency: Micro-power sleep current, automatic light load management, synchronous wake-up function under light load conditions
backup
• System Protection: In the event of a short circuit or excessive “on-time” conditions, the device shuts down the MOSFET
• Design
