High-density QDRII+ SRAM portfolio completed with new 65-nm 36-Mbit and 18-Mbit devices!
Cypress Korea (General Manager Young-do Lim, www.cypress.com ), a leading SRAM manufacturer, announced the launch of new QDR™ (Quad Data Rate™) and DDR (Double Data Rate) SRAMs at 36-Mbit and 18-Mbit densities, the latest products in its 65-nm SRAM product family.
The new memory product completes the industry's most extensive portfolio of 65-nm synchronous SRAM, including up to 144 Mbit densities and speeds up to 550 MHz. Cypress's patented process technology reduces power consumption by up to 50% compared to 90-nm SRAM, while enabling a new wave of "green" networking infrastructure applications.
The new devices are a compatible upgrade for the large installed base of 90-nm QDRII/QDRII+ SRAM, estimated at over 60 million units, and fully comply with QDR Consortium specifications. This compatibility enables designers to easily upgrade system performance without the need to redesign the boards of existing products. 65-nm SRAM is suitable for networking applications including core and edge routers, fixed and modular Ethernet switches, 3G base stations, and security routers, and also enhances the performance of medical imaging and military signal-processing systems. QDRII+ and DDRII+ devices feature On-Die Termination (ODT), which improves signal integrity, reduces system costs, and saves board area by eliminating external termination resistors.
