Winning Multiple Awards Besides the EPA-Sponsored 'ENERGY STAR Award'
Fulfilling Corporate Social Responsibility Through Green Management

On the 13th, Samsung Electronics became the first domestic electronics company to win the "Sustained Excellence Award" for four consecutive years at the "2016 ENERGY STAR Award" sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The Sustained Excellence Award is the most prestigious award in the environmental and energy sector, given by the U.S. government to evaluate the efforts of local governments, organizations, and companies in improving energy efficiency and reducing energy consumption.

Additionally, Samsung Electronics was selected as "Partner of the Year" for six consecutive years as the first domestic company to receive this honor, and has also won the "Climate Communications Award" for three consecutive years.



As a result of Samsung Electronics' efforts to expand the market penetration of energy-efficient products and enhance consumer awareness of environmental protection through ▲development of high-efficiency energy products ▲implementation of youth environmental education programs ▲screening of eco-friendly advertisements at Times Square, a total of 704 models in the North American market obtained ENERGY STAR certification last year, and among them, 34 models received the "Most Efficient" grade, which is given only to products with the highest energy efficiency.

A Samsung Electronics official stated, "This award is a result of the U.S. government's official recognition of Samsung Electronics' continuous efforts in developing energy-efficient products and our environmental communication activities with consumers," and added, "Going forward, we will fulfill our corporate social responsibility based on our corporate green management slogan, 'PlanetFirst'."
