Gartner Selects Samsung Knox as Top-Tier Mobile Security Device
Published2016.04.14 20:37Samsung Electronics announced on the 14th that its mobile security solution 'Samsung Knox 2.6' has been awarded the 'Strong' grade in Gartner's recently published '2016 Mobile Device Security Platform Comparative Assessment'.
Samsung Knox received the highest 'Strong' grade in the Corporate managed Security category in Gartner's assessment report, which compared a total of 12 mobile security solutions based on core operating systems (OS) across more than 20 evaluation items, and was recognized as the only solution to receive top scores across all evaluation items related to enterprise.
The evaluation criteria for Gartner's Mobile Device Security Platform Comparative Assessment include Authentication Methods, Encryption Management, Jailbreak/Root Protection, and App Vetting.
Lee In-jong, Senior Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Wireless Business Division, stated, "In today's mobile environment, data protection and personal information security are the most critical factors, and Samsung Knox, which is currently embedded in Samsung Electronics' mobile devices, provides the strongest-performing security solution."

The domestic IT security market contracted by 4.1% last year compared to the previous year, but the future outlook is bright.
According to a recent domestic IT security product market outlook report published by Korea IDC (CEO Hong Yu-suk), the domestic IT security product market last year was tallied at 437 billion won, a 4.1% decrease compared to the previous year. The network security segment, which includes firewalls and UTM equipment, is analyzed to have led the overall IT security product market decline, falling approximately 10% year-over-year due to market saturation. The domestic IT security product market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.2% over the next five years, exceeding 500 billion won by 2019 and reaching a scale of 530 billion won in 2020.

CEO Kang Min-seung emphasized at Snowflake's World Tour Seoul that generative AI has entered a phase where "trust" rather than accuracy becomes the key competitive advantage.
