Silicon Labs clock generator with the industry's smallest size, providing 8 outputs with a single IC
A Silicon Labs 570 clock generator was used on Altera's audio-video demo board. It provides output from 10 MHz to 1.4 GHz. Since it is I2C programmable, it offers all clock frequencies within this output range.

The board uses 433MHz. Since this chip is equipped with an internal crystal, there is no need to mount an external crystal. Silicon Labs provides tools for PCs, so using these tools, the demo communicates with the actual MCU via USB, and the clock is controlled via I2C from this MCU.
It is actually used in many fields, such as video and networking. In particular, it is widely used in areas requiring high frequency, such as set-top DVRs.

The demo supports clock + and - with 1 output, and this one is called the SI53 series, which provides low frequencies such as 1~200MHz but supports up to 8 outputs.
Silicon Labs' products are significantly smaller in both price and size compared to competitors. Companies often provide products in a modular form because the ICs themselves are large. If eight actual crystals were used, they would take up a large amount of space, but if a single IC provides eight outputs like Silicon Labs does, the board size is reduced and BOM costs can be saved.
