Best performance support for Anadigics' ALT6713 and AWT6321 PA, and LG's VL600 USB modem provided by Verizon
ANADIGICS, Inc. (Nasdaq: ANAD), an industry leader in cutting-edge technology trends, announced today that its industry-leading power amplifiers are being used in LG Electronics (LG)’s new VL600 USB wireless modem. The VL600, which will be available at Verizon Wireless, incorporates ANADIGICS’ ALT6713 and AWT6321 power amplifiers (PA), bringing improvements to both the performance and reliability of the device.
Developed as the use of LTE (Long-Term Evolution) continues to grow globally, the VL600 is LG's first product for Verizon's 4G network that enables increased network throughput and significantly faster mobile data speeds. Verizon recently announced plans to launch LTE network connectivity services in 38 cities across the United States within the next few months. The VL600 supports the 700 MHz LTE band as well as the 1900 MHz/800 MHz EVDO bands in non-LTE coverage areas, and is compatible with existing 3G networks.

Marcus Wise, Vice President of Wireless RF Products at Anadigics, said, “We are very pleased to provide our solutions to LG, one of the industry’s leading innovative mobile manufacturers, along with our extensive product portfolio.” The ALT6713 equipped with the VL600 is another example of our innovative contribution to accelerating the overall evolution of 4G.
Key features of the integrated Anadigics PA
The ALT6713 power amplifier is the leading product in Anadigics’ HELP™ (High Efficiency, Low Power) product portfolio for LTE devices. It supports Bands 13/14, handling operating frequencies in the UMTS 700 MHz range. The ALT6713 delivers excellent efficiency at low power levels and provides significantly low standby current without an external voltage regulator. It exceeds the stringent linearity requirements for LTE modulation and consumes an average of 30% less current compared to previous generations of HELP™ products.
Anadigics' dual-band HELP2™ AWT6321 PA has low standby current and provides excellent efficiency without the need for an SMPS or DC-DC converter. Through selectable bias modes, the AWT6321 achieves optimal efficiency at all output power levels, particularly at the low and medium power levels where PAs typically operate, thereby dramatically increasing handset talk time and standby time.
Two PAs are in mass production and are manufactured using advanced InGaP-Plus HBT technology, which provides state-of-the-art reliability, temperature stability, and robustness.
Additional Features and Benefits:
ALT6713:
• The ALT6713 is a single-band HELP4™ PA that supports a frequency range of 777-798MHz.
