Equipped with a transfer speed of 220 Mb/s and USB 3.0 expandability

The International Photo & Imaging Exhibition, P&I, marking its 25th anniversary this year, will be held for eight days starting May 4. As the largest festival for photography and video professionals, P&I is expected to feature participation from a diverse range of companies, ranging from camera equipment to storage devices.

Accordingly, PCDirect, a comprehensive IT distributor, announced on the 27th that it will participate in P&I along with the official distribution of the Seagate LaCie external hard drive series.

Lassi has been introduced for its elegant design and superior technology since its first sale in France in 1987, but it has frequently been mentioned in communities and expert forums as official distribution in Korea has not been confirmed until now. And after being merged into Seagate in 2014, the official launch in Korea was finally confirmed.

The LaCie d2 Thunderbolt (hereinafter d2) guarantees a base transfer speed of 220 Mb/s, and when upgraded to SSD storage, it transfers data at a maximum speed of 1150 Mb/s. It also features expandability by providing Thunderbolt 2 and USB 3.0 interfaces as standard.

In addition, considering usage environments where high-capacity data transmission is frequent, such as for photographers, designers, and filmmakers, an aluminum chassis with excellent heat dissipation was used to completely solve the problems of noise and heat generation.



In addition, the launch of the Rugged (LaCie Rugged Thunderbolt, hereinafter Rugged) was announced alongside the official release of the D2. The Rugged is a portable external hard drive that uses a stainless steel case resistant to external shocks and corrosion, and maximizes stability by wrapping it in rubber with excellent shock absorption capabilities. Like the D2, it guarantees fast data transfer speeds of up to 10Gb/s through support for an integrated Thunderbolt cable and USB 3.0 interface.

In addition, all products in the LaCie series are compatible with Windows and Mac operating systems and support the AES 256-bit encryption algorithm, meeting military security standards.
