Storage & Electronic Devices Solutions Company, a subsidiary of Toshiba Corporation, announced on the 28th the launch of the “TCB501HQ,” a 4-channel power amplifier IC.

This new IC features a built-in full-time offset detection circuit that detects speaker output offset voltage, which is a cause of speaker fires. It prevents speaker fires by detecting output DC offset voltage caused by leakage current from input capacitors and other sources, even during sound playback.



The new IC utilizes a current feedback system adopted in high-end hi-fi audio. This prevents audio degradation across a wide bandwidth and ensures stable sound quality.

Mass production of the TCB501HQ is scheduled to begin in June 2016.
