Processor for network-connected devices with audio, video, and touchscreen capabilities
December 14, 2010, Newport Beach, California – Conexant Systems (Country Manager for Korea: Kyung-bae Park), a leader in innovative semiconductor solutions for imaging, audio, video, embedded modems, and video surveillance applications, announced today the launch of the CX92745 processor for Interactive Display Devices (IDAs) featuring audio, high-definition video, and touchscreen capabilities. IDAs are used in a variety of touchscreen-operated multimedia applications, including web tablets, interactive kiosks, and digital signage, as well as interactive TVs and video intercoms for home automation. Because this single-chip solution is highly integrated, manufacturers can significantly reduce the effort, time, and component costs involved in design.

Sailesh Chittipeddi, President and COO of Conexant, stated, “By leveraging our expertise in mixed-signal and image processing, we are now able to provide a single-chip solution that enables very high-quality audio and video capabilities in multimedia display devices.” He further emphasized, “The newly announced CX92745 processor features capabilities that allow customers to develop differentiated display devices using the same semiconductor platform, thereby reducing engineering costs and product development time.”
About CX92745
The CX92745 display, media, and image processor provides high-speed, high-quality photo rendering and multimedia processing capabilities because it features Conexant's proprietary image processing pipeline, a high-performance HD video hardware engine, a graphics processing unit, and a powerful microprocessor. This new system-on-chip (SoC) solution integrates a Class-D amplifier to maximize audio performance and power efficiency, as well as an internal power controller to reduce component costs. The CX92745 also includes network connectivity such as Wi-Fi®, 3G mobile communication, Bluetooth®, and Ethernet.
This new processor is high-performance.
