Launch of Xpress product family for enterprise cloud

Nutanix (www.nutanix.com) announced the launch of the Nutanix Xpress product family.

Nutanix Xpress is a new solution designed to enable small and medium-sized businesses to use the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform at a more affordable price. It is simple enough for a single IT professional to install and manage the entire enterprise's IT infrastructure, allowing them to focus on more important tasks with the time saved.

In small and medium-sized enterprises, such as small manufacturers, a small number of IT professionals typically have to manage all unrelated or highly specialized and complex technologies related to virtualization, servers, storage, and backup infrastructure in-house. When faced with the challenge of balancing a tight budget with critical infrastructure issues, IT managers inevitably struggle to keep the business running.

For example, when a SAN that has been in operation for five years reaches its capacity limit and its support period expires, or when massive hardware and software upgrades are required to support the latest versions of key enterprise applications, it is difficult to efficiently replace or upgrade the hardware and supporting software. Furthermore, if local backups or backups to the public cloud are required, verifying the backed-up data is inevitably difficult.

Large enterprises solve many of these problems by reconfiguring or relocating their data center infrastructure. However, small businesses are unable to make such drastic changes due to issues such as cost burdens. Therefore, without access to more affordable and efficient solutions, SMEs will be unable to compete effectively with large corporations and will continue to fall behind.

To bridge this technology gap, Nutanix launched the Xpress product family for small and medium-sized businesses, offering the following features.

The all-in-one solution is a fully hyperconverged system that fundamentally integrates servers, storage, and virtualization, simplifying the infrastructure stack into a single space-saving platform capable of powering anywhere from 5 to 500 virtual machines (VMs). Through proven performance and reliability, it enables multi-functional IT professionals to easily support infrastructure requirements.

Plug and Play pre-installs and prepares software for small and medium-sized businesses so that all virtualization applications can run within 60 minutes, and the Built-In virtualization solution eliminates the need for additional installation and management of software components through the built-in Nutanix AHV (Acropolis Hypervisor) and powerful VM management, thereby reducing expensive virtualization licensing costs.
