BeatScanner utilizes the high-sensitivity built-in accelerometer and gyroscope sensors of smartphones and tablets to accurately detect even minute movements. After measurements lasting 15 seconds to 2 minutes, the data is automatically analyzed by BeatScanner's powerful cloud-based analysis software. This software calculates a score based on the degree of change in the detected rhythm.
Ossi Tiihonen, founder of SuperECG.com, explained, “The score calculated by BitScanner analysis software indicates the degree of rhythmic variability,” adding, “The less irregular the rhythm, the lower the score.” He further elaborated, “Green indicates low irregularity, yellow means the rhythm is somewhat irregular, and red shows an irregular rhythm.”
To analyze your heart rate, lean back comfortably on a chair or bed and place your phone or tablet against the upper part of your chest that is supported by bone. Placing the device on bone allows the app to detect vibrations more accurately. Take care to keep the device from moving during measurement and do not drop it.
BitScanner's powerful analysis can also be utilized to analyze the heartbeats and rhythms of animals. It can be difficult to detect arrhythmias in animals using standard ECG devices. On the other hand, with BitScanner, you just need to calm the animal and keep it still.
