SK Telecom combines high-performance servers and data center-grade switches
Development of an integrated network appliance platform

IP Infusion announced that South Korea's largest telecommunications company, SK Telecom, will use OcNOS, a network operating system provided by IP Infusion, as part of its open networking strategy.

OcNOS is a solution for enterprises and telecommunications providers that enables them to reduce network costs, increase flexibility, and rapidly deliver new features and services.

SK Telecom is developing T-CAP (Converged Appliance Platform), an integrated appliance platform that combines high-performance servers and data center-class switches based on an open network hardware architecture.

This is part of the development of a modular data center solution to meet VNF and mobile computing requirements, which will enable SK Telecom to distribute service intelligence toward the edge network, improving service scalability by reducing power and space requirements, and strengthening network security such as data backup and end-to-end encryption. SK Telecom and IPinfusion will also collaborate to develop integrated management of requirements for general and virtual solutions based on network operating systems on SK Telecom’s integrated appliance platform.


OcNOS is a high-performance modular network operating system for data centers and enterprise networks.

It supports ONIE (Open Network Install Environment) and is a network operating system for enterprise and telecommunications carrier-grade Open Compute hardware. OcNOS, which has high availability and scalability, is optimized for both general and virtual environments, and supports a wide range of functions such as IP/MPLS routing, OpenFlow, switching, and security.

OcNOS helps customers like SK Telecom easily develop their own network products with a wide range of support features and carrier-grade quality and flexibility. This allows customers to design networks to suit their individual, specific needs and quickly provide new services.
