AIL Science, Selected as Superior Procurement Product by Public Procurement Service in 2016 with LED Lighting Products
Published2016.07.01 11:51AIL Science (formerly Solar Science)'s LED lighting products have been selected as superior products by the Public Procurement Service in 2016.
LED lighting and silicon lens specialist company AIL Science (CEO Song Sung-geun) announced that five types of its 'LED lighting fixtures equipped with light-collecting device technology for illumination' have been designated in the electrical and electronics division of superior procurement products.
The selected products include two types of LED street lights (100W, 150W) and three types of LED security lights (30W, 50W, 60W). Silicon lenses developed with proprietary technology have been applied, and compared to existing plastic (PC) or acrylic (PMMA) lens products, the advantages are △shorter manufacturing period (2 weeks required, 75% reduction) and △lower cost (50% savings).
In particular, AIL Science's silicon lenses are products that have been certified for high heat resistance and high efficiency through evaluation by the Korea Lighting Research Institute, and acquired new technology certification (NET-New Excellent Technology) from the National Institute of Standards and Technology under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in August of last year.
The Public Procurement Service's superior procurement products system is a government project that supports public sales channels through discretionary contracts for technology development products of small and medium-sized enterprises and venture companies with excellent technology and performance, with annual purchase amounts reaching approximately 2.1 trillion won. According to the Korea Procurement Research Institute, when a company's product is designated as a superior procurement product, it shows an average sales growth rate of approximately 170%.
Additionally, in accordance with the 'Enforcement Decree Amendment Bill on Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprise Product Purchases and Sales Channel Support' that was passed in January, public institutions are mandatorily required to purchase 10% or more of their total small and medium-sized enterprise goods procurement budget as 'superior procurement products and new technology certified products,' and as a result, the sales growth range of selected companies is expected to expand further.
Song Sung-geun, CEO of AIL Science, said, "Taking this selection as a superior product by the Public Procurement Service as an opportunity, we will make further efforts in technology development and quality improvement to continuously enhance our competitiveness."
