TI Launches Industry's First Integrated USB Charging Port Power Switch

Intelligent host-mode charging power IC providing a shared standard-compatible solution
TI has launched a new power management device integrating a current-limiting power switch and a 2.6 GHz high-bandwidth signal switch optimized for USB interfaces. The TPS2540 is the industry's first to provide an onboard power switch with host-side charge control capable of intelligent charging for portable devices powered via a USB port. The TPS2540 supports USB charging modes worldwide, including the upcoming Battery Charging 1.2 draft specification, Chinese and European regulatory requirements, and individual charging modes from leading electronics manufacturers. This IC is suitable for USB ports in various host applications, such as AC wall adapters, desktop PCs, docking stations, and auto-charging accessories. The TPS2540 is the first device to support charging portable devices via a USB port even when the host system is in standby mode.

ST Launches 75V Drive IC Targeting 48V Industrial Motor Driving
