Fairchild's improved gate driver optocoupler providing lower power consumption and faster switching speeds
The FOD3184 consists of an AIGaAs optical LED combined with a CMOS detector and integrated PMOS and NMOS output transistors in the circuit power stage. The PMOS pull-up transistor features a low RDS(ON) to reduce internal power consumption and achieve a close rail-to-rail output voltage swing. This component also provides high noise immunity, characterized by a common-mode rejection (CMR) of at least 3.5 kV/µs, making it ideal for noisy industrial applications.
This component also features a wide Vcc operating range (15V to 30V), a maximum peak output current of 3A, and guaranteed operation over a temperature range of -40ºC to +100ºC. The FOD3184 also features undervoltage protection (UVLO) with hysteresis and optimal characteristics for driving IGBTs. The FOD3184 comes in an 8-pin package.
