Strengthen IoT capabilities through mentoring by expert engineers

Telit (CEO Derek Sang) announced that it has donated educational equipment to Jeju National University free of charge to foster IoT professionals.

Telit previously signed a business agreement with Jeju National University in February of this year to foster IoT professionals and strengthen global competitiveness. Accordingly, Telit delivered all equipment necessary for IoT education, including wireless communication modules and IoT-based platforms, to promote smooth industry-academia cooperation.

Undergraduate and graduate students participating in Jeju National University's IoT professional training program have been able to apply various development ideas based on products and solutions donated by Telit, while also enhancing the completeness for actual application and strengthening their development capabilities through a mentor-mentee system with IoT professional engineers.

The IoT equipment items provided by Telit consist of an evaluation kit that can be used with all of Telit's communication modules, the HE910 module capable of 3G/4G compatibility, and an interface board for the xE910 unified form factor. Each development kit includes a global roaming SIM card that allows for initial testing and performance verification, so that after development, you can immediately connect to the internet to learn and test the IoT platform.

In addition, Telit attended the 'Seminar on Measures to Revitalize IoT Technology Commercialization through Industry-Academic Cooperation' organized by the Jeju National University LINC (Leading Industry-Academic Cooperation College) Project Group and presented the latest trends in IoT platform technology and business application cases.

We hope that students participating in the IoT talent development program will become the protagonists who realize innovative possibilities, and we plan to continue developing various support measures in the future," said Kim Hee-cheol, Managing Director of Sales for Telit Korea.

Jeju National University is focusing on producing future talents with global competitiveness in the ICT field through cooperation with specialized companies such as Telit. Telit plans to create an environment where global companies can participate in support programs for talent development by leading extensive industry-academia collaboration.

Kang Cheol-woong, Director of the Entrepreneurship Education Center at Jeju National University’s LINC Project Group, expressed his gratitude, stating, “As we are taking the lead in fostering talent with global competitiveness in specialized fields, we are developing various programs to strengthen students’ competitiveness.
