High-current product lineup, improved mechanical relay replacement capability for industrial applications

The Semiconductor & Storage Products Company of Toshiba Corporation announced that it has added three new products to its lineup of opto-relays capable of replacing mechanical relays in industrial applications, including an industry-leading 5A high-current DIP8 package opto-relay.

New products such as “TLP3547”, “TLP3548”, and “TLP3549” are shipped immediately. “TLP3547” is a 60V product and is a DIP8 package photorelay driven by an industry-leading 5A (max) high current. “TLP3548” is a 400V product driven by a 0.4A (max) high current and capable of high-speed switching of 1ms (max).

“TLP3549” is a 600V product driven by a high current of 0.6A (max) as an optical relay utilizing the “DTMOS series,” which is the industry’s first MOSFET with a super-junction structure.

Unlike mechanical relays, opto-relays have no physical contact that causes wear and degradation, which offers advantages in ensuring reliability and enables the development of smaller and thinner product sets. In addition, Toshiba’s new opto-relay product guarantees an ON state pulse current three times larger than the ON state DC current, providing a margin for safety design.
