The most authoritative international standard in the field of information security management

LG Electronics has proven its robust information security system by obtaining the international standard for information security certification (ISO27001) at all of its domestic business sites.

LG Electronics recently held an information security certification (ISO27001) award ceremony at the Yeouido Twin Towers, attended by Vice President Lee Chung-hak of LG Electronics and Director Lee Jang-seop of DNV-GL, an international standard certification agency.

'ISO27001' is the most authoritative international standard in the field of information security management. It is certified through strict examination by auditors of 114 detailed items in 14 fields, including information security policy, physical security, log management and monitoring, and security incident tracking management.

With this certification, LG Electronics has proven that it has an information security system capable of effectively responding to internal and external security threats such as information leaks, hacking, and viruses. Recently, B2B clients are strengthening their requirements for information protection and demanding it as a basic transaction condition.

Last year, LG Electronics also received post-certification for the International Standard for Personal Information Protection (BS10012), a first for the electronics industry. BS10012 is a globally recognized international personal information certification that requires companies to meet all the specific requirements, from management systems to operations, including: a company's personal information protection management system and compliance with laws and regulations; a level of awareness of personal information protection; and ongoing internal audits.
