STMicroelectronics ( www.st.com , Country Manager for Korea Sung-keun Kang), a world-leading MCU supplier, has launched the STM32 Value High-Density Microcontroller (MCU) family to support designers in developing high-performance products at very economical prices for customers seeking products differentiated by new features and added value. This new MCU is a flexible solution for price-sensitive designs by providing additional program memory and on-chip capabilities, and by adding 16 to 512 KB of embedded flash to the STM32 Value Line family.
MCUs form the heart of today's electronic products, including consumer electronics, multimedia devices, and mobile devices. As software becomes increasingly larger and more complex, the performance of MCUs continues to improve. ST's STM32 MCU adopted an advanced 32-bit core ahead of competitors and offers enhanced performance compared to 16-bit MCUs at a competitive price point. With over 140 pin and software compatible products now available, the STM32 MCU family allows you to choose industry-optimized features, such as built-in USB support, at various price-performance ratios.
"The new STM32 Value High Density device is a 32-bit MCU designed based on the STM32 Value Line that offers even better price competitiveness. Price-sensitive applications can now utilize flash memory densities of up to 512KB for additional integrated functions as well as program and data storage," said Kyung-hwa Choi, MCU Marketing Manager at ST Korea.
One of the newly enhanced features of the STM32 Value High Density product is the external memory interface, which can now support various types of external code or data memory. This interface also supports a parallel interface mode for LCD screens with integrated controllers. This is in response to the growing trend of using graphic LCD panels in products such as washing machines, audio/DVD players, and RF remote controls. Additionally, up to 112 additional I/O pins
