Not only ensure compatibility between IoT products, but also accelerate commercialization with low-power devices

LG CNS (CEO Kim Young-seop) recently announced that it has become the first in the IT service industry to acquire the international IoT standard certifications 'oneM2M' and 'CoAP protocol'.

'oneM2M' is a global IoT standard involving over 230 companies in the telecommunications, manufacturing, and solutions sectors, and through this certification, LG CNS has laid the groundwork to expand its IoT products and services into overseas markets as well as the domestic market.

LG CNS jointly developed a oneM2M-based IoT platform with LG Uplus and applied it to LG Uplus's kids' watch 'Juniver Toki' last January.

Along with the oneM2M certification, LG CNS also obtained certification for the 'CoAP (Constrained Application Protocol) protocol,' an IoT message transmission standard.

The 'CoAP Protocol' certification is an IoT device efficiency certification designed to enable communication between IoT products even with low power consumption, taking into account the characteristics of IoT devices that are always powered on.

Cho In-haeng, Senior Vice President of LG CNS’s IoT Business Division, stated, “By obtaining international standard certification for our IoT platform, we not only ensure compatibility between IoT products, but also "We will contribute to revitalizing the IoT market ecosystem by accelerating actual commercialization with low-power devices," he said.

Meanwhile, in March of last year, LG CNS developed the first set-top box-based integrated home IoT solution in Korea, enabling smart home services by connecting IoT devices of various specifications with a single set-top box without the need for separate additional equipment.
