Partnering with Taerim General Construction to connect various home appliances via IoT
Providing connectivity services between IoT products through voice control and IFTTT (conditional control) functions

LG Uplus and Taerim General Construction will build 1,000 IoT officetel units equipped with built-in Home IoT (IoT@home) solutions. The project targets approximately 1,000 units, including the 'Taerim The Clium' officetel at Gurae Station in Gimpo Hangang New City, scheduled to begin construction this coming October, and officetels in the Cheongna district.

LG Uplus announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Taerim General Construction (CEOs Kim Myung-hyun and Kim Ji-eun), a comprehensive real estate development company, to build IoT officetels.

Under this partnership, the two companies will supply home IoT solutions to approximately 1,000 households, including the 'Taerim The Clium' officetel in Gimpo Hangang New City and officetels in Cheongna District, and plan to expand the installation of IoT officetels nationwide in the future.

IoT officetels allow users to check electricity usage and enter progressive tax brackets, monitor the security of front doors and windows, and control functions such as turning lights on and off via smartphone even when outside the home. The potential for expansion is limitless, extending beyond controlling boilers, dehumidifiers, and gas valves to managing newly purchased appliances like air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, air purifiers, and rice cookers.

In addition, voice control of linked products and mode recommendation features through big data analysis are provided. For example, if you say "Let's clean" to a smartphone or IoT hub, you can set the ventilation fan, air purifier, robot vacuum, and curtains to operate simultaneously; and as resident usage information accumulates, big data can be utilized to analyze user behavior patterns and recommend modes for commuting, weekends, and travel.

LG Uplus is leading the domestic home IoT market by recently surpassing 360,000 home IoT subscribers, and is focusing its capabilities on creating an advanced residential culture by preparing to launch air quality measurement solutions and location-based control solutions within complexes, along with the advancement of security services in partnership with ADT Caps.
