Following a 50,000 won price reduction last June, an additional 50,000 won discount

Microsoft Korea (CEO Ko Soon-dong) announced that it is holding an Xbox One discount event ahead of the release of major game titles in the second half of the year. Following the 50,000 won price reduction for the official Xbox One last June, the company is now offering an additional 50,000 won discount.

This discount event began on July 29 and is being held at online and offline stores nationwide, and applies to Xbox One bundle packages excluding the Kinect bundle. The Xbox One 500GB is sold starting at 348,000 won (estimated retail price, including VAT), and the Xbox One 1TB bundle starts at 398,000 won (estimated retail price, including VAT).

Yoo Woo-jong, Senior Vice President of the Consumer Channel Group at Microsoft Korea, stated, “Since both the Xbox One S, scheduled for release in the second half of this year, and Project Scorpio, scheduled for release next year, are compatible with Xbox One games and accessories, gamers can choose from a variety of Xbox One models to suit their preferences.”

“This discount event will be a great option for Xbox fans,” he said. “As Microsoft’s new IP, ReCore, as well as Forza Horizon 3, Gears of War 4, and Dead Rising 4, are being released in Korean versions in the second half of the year, we hope you will fully enjoy the Xbox One.”

Meanwhile, ReCore is scheduled to be released on Xbox One and Windows 10 on September 13, Forza Horizon 3 on September 27, and Gears of War 4 on October 11, and all support Xbox Play Anywhere, allowing players to share progress, saved games, and achievements between Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs.
