LG Electronics and Hanssem to Develop Smart Home Business Model Together

LG Electronics and Hanssem signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for home IoT (Internet of Things) business cooperation at Seoul Square in Namdaemun on the 17th. The event was attended by Lee Sang-yoon, Executive Director of LG Electronics' Korea Sales Division Korea B2B Group, and Lee Young-sik, President of Hanssem.
LG Electronics and Hanssem plan to mutually cooperate in ▲Supply and joint development of smart appliances and IoT devices ▲Development of home IoT business models and joint marketing ▲Interoperability between IoT service platforms and big data analysis.

LG Electronics and Hanssem are combining LG Electronics' IoT technological capabilities with Hanssem's furniture and interior design competencies to create innovative living environments. To this end, they plan to actively conduct mutual education and technology exchange, and jointly develop smart home business models.
Lee Young-sik, President of Hanssem, said, "Furniture and appliances develop together," and expressed his hope that "Hanssem's unique core values regarding residential spaces combined with LG Electronics' world-class IT technology quality will enable us to present products of a new paradigm."
Lee Sang-yoon, Executive Director of LG Electronics, emphasized, "Based on our solid partnership with Hanssem, we will actively develop the future of smart homes incorporating IoT technology."
Meanwhile, LG Electronics launched the 'SmartThinQ™ Sensor' in June, which converts ordinary household appliances without smart functions into smart appliances. The company has also launched the 'SmartThinQ™ Hub,' which displays the status of smart appliances, presenting differentiated smart home services with easy and convenient usability at the forefront.
