KT Holds 'Drone & Art Convergence Exhibition' at National Assembly Members' Office Building Gallery

KT announced that it will hold the Drone & Art Convergence Exhibition, which combines drones and culture and art, together with the office of National Assembly member Kang Hoon-sik and the Korea Drone Association, at the National Assembly Members' Office Building Gallery for five days from Monday, the 29th, to Friday, September 2nd.
This exhibition is the first event in Korea to fuse drones with culture and arts, and it was organized by KT to explore new areas of drone marketing, building upon its track record of establishing drone racing teams and sponsoring racing competitions.
The 'Drone & Art Convergence Exhibition' showcases various forms of drone art, including paintings, installations, and exhibitions that utilize drones in the works of cultural and artistic artists. 'Civilization Battle Map - Star Wars' by world-renowned media artist Lee Yi-nam conveys a message of support for the drone industry by depicting drones within classical paintings. Artist No Dong-sik's installation piece 'Air Show' symbolically expresses dreams realized in the sky through drones by featuring airplanes, contrails, and skydivers.
Artist Bandal's 'Scentsitive (Scent + Sensitive),' meaning 'delicate fragrance,' is a work that expresses communication between humans and drones under the subtitle 'If humans are flowers, drones are butterflies.' In addition, the 'Art Drone' exhibition produced by KT is expected to express diversity through the various forms that drones possess.
In addition, the opening ceremony at 7 p.m. on the 29th will feature the 'Drone Valley' media art show, which highlights the present and future of Korean drones through CG and media art, as well as a drone fashion show where a queen's royal hanbok is suspended from a drone and appears on the runway. Furthermore, various attractions are prepared, including a freestyle demonstration flight by Kim Min-chan of the KT Drone Racing Team Giga Five.
This exhibition is garnering anticipation as domestic experts in installation and spatial art, including artists Lee Yi-nam, No Dong-sik, and Bandal, directly create works fused with drones, while the direction is handled by Director Han Sung-soo, an expert in collaborative art. The exhibition is free for everyone to view from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the event period.
Lee Dong-soo, Executive Vice President and Head of the IMC Division at KT's Marketing Group, stated, "KT will showcase new content that fuses drones with culture and the arts to solidify its drone leadership and innovative image," adding, "Going forward, we will continue to provide customers with more things to see and enjoy through drone content integrated with various fields."

전체 항공기 시장에서 무인기가 차지하는 비율이 증가하고 있음은 수치로도 확인됩니다. 전체 무인기 시장은 2025년에 125억 달러로 연평균 10% 증가할 전망이며 국내 무인기 시장은 2022년에 5.25억 달러로 연평균 22% 증가한다는 예측이 그것입니다. 무인기 시장의 대부분은 군용이지만 민간시장의 비율도 증가하고 있습니다. 군용 무인기는 2023년 115.9억 달러로 증가(연평균 9%)하지만 민수 무인기는 2023년이면 8.8억 달러로 무려 연평균 35% 성장할 것이라는 전망이 나왔습니다. 특히 민간 상업용 소형 무인항공기는 시장 활성화를 위한 법률안 마련으로 중장기적인 수요 급증이 예상됩니다.

KT Drone Racing Team GiGA5 Sweeps Top Rankings at Asia Cup Shanghai
KT는 지난 7월23일 중국 상하이에서 열린 드론레이싱 대회 제1회 ‘아시아컵 상하이’에서 KT 드론레이싱팀 ‘GiGA5(기가파이브)’ 소속 김민찬 선수가 55초56의 기록으로 전체 참가자 128명 중 우승을 차지했다고 25일 밝혔다. 이번에 열린 ‘아시아컵 상하이' 대회는 중국, 일본, 한국 등 아시아 주요 16개국 대표급 선수들 128명이 참가해 8명씩 16개 조를 이뤄 총 5라운드로 진행됐으며, 우리나라는 국내 랭킹 10위권 이내 선수들이 참가해 우승을 차지한 김민찬 선수 포함 5명이 대회 10위 안에 드는 우수한 성적을 거뒀다.
