Three new premium products, including the ZenBook 3 and the detachable 2-in-1 laptop Transformer

ASUS has unveiled three new premium laptops with top-of-the-line specifications.

The new products unveiled at today's event, held under the theme of 'ASUS 3', include ASUS's premium laptop line 'ZenBook 3 (UX390)' and the detachable 2-in-1 laptop models 'Transformer 3 Pro (T303)' and 'Transformer 3 (T305)', which offer more innovative and powerful designs and performance than any product released to the market so far.

In particular, the ZenBook 3 is considered the first product in Korea to feature Intel's 7th generation Core processor, Kaby Lake, and is credited with setting a new standard for super ultra-slim laptops. It is equipped with the latest Intel® Core™ i7 processor, 16GB of 2133MHz LPDDR3 RAM, an ultra-fast 1TB PCIe® Gen 3 SSD, and a state-of-the-art USB-C port that supports displays.

Meeting the diverse needs of various demographics, including business and lifestyle consumers, early adopters, and prosumers.

Not only does it have powerful specifications, but it is also the thinnest and lightest 12-inch model currently available, boasting a thickness of 11.9mm and a weight of 910g. In fact, it has the smallest weight and thickness compared to other companies' ultra-slim laptops.

In addition, the ability to fast charge and the long-lasting battery life are also noteworthy features. It guarantees fast charging capable of reaching 60% within 49 minutes, and is equipped with a polymer battery that boasts a lifespan approximately three times longer than a standard battery, allowing for 9 hours of continuous use after a full charge.

The application of biometric technology, which is gaining attention as a next-generation security technology, is also noteworthy. The ZenBook 3 is equipped with a fingerprint recognition feature that enhances security by preventing access to unregistered users via Windows Hello, while also eliminating the hassle of entering a password.

The design, representing the premium segment, is also considered innovative. Featuring a unibody metal design, the product utilizes high-quality aluminum primarily used in aircraft fuselages, offering over 50% higher durability compared to standard laptops despite its lightweight and slim profile. Furthermore, the display employs Corning® Gorilla® Glass 4, which is half the thickness of standard cover glass yet more robust. The company explained that the unique and sophisticated design was perfected through a 32-turn manufacturing process.

Befitting a premium model, the entertainment features are also premium-class. Next-generation ASUS SonicMaster audio technology was developed and applied through collaboration with the leading audio brand Harman Kardon. Equipped with four speakers featuring a smart four-channel amplifier, you can enjoy powerful and magnificent sound.

The two detachable 2-in-1 laptops unveiled alongside the ZenBook 3, the Transformer 3 Pro and Transformer 3, are also remarkable premium products. Described as "the most versatile product with the most multifaceted features in the world," the Transformer 3 Pro features a 12.6-inch screen with a slim 8.35mm design and a lightweight 795g body. It supports a 6th Gen Intel® Core™ i7 processor and 16GB of fast LPDDR3 RAM, while guaranteeing high speeds with a 1TB PCIe® x4 SSD. Furthermore, the Thunderbolt™ 3 interface provides a maximum data transfer speed of 40Gbps via a USB-C port that is 80 times faster than USB 2.0, and it is equipped with dual external 4K UHD displays and Harman Kardon speakers. In addition, it supports tilting up to 178 degrees, making it a product optimized for both business and daily use.

Meanwhile, the 'Transformer 3' is a new product that offers high portability and convenience as a detachable 2-in-1 laptop. While it features the same 12.6-inch screen as the 'Transformer 3 Pro', it is slimmer and lighter, weighing 695g and measuring 6.9mm in thickness. It is equipped with an Intel® Core™ processor, supports 8GB of fast LPDDR3 RAM, and offers a 3K (2880x1920 pixels) resolution with a pixel density of 275ppi. In addition, it is equipped with powerful sound performance through four SonicMaster Premium speakers.

Jason Wu, General Manager of ASUS Korea's System Business Group, emphasized at the event, "ASUS created a new paradigm in the market with the world's first netbook in 2007, and changed another paradigm in 2011 by introducing the world's first detachable 2-in-1 laptop." He added, "The trends currently leading the PC market can be summarized as ultra-slim, light, 2-in-1, and gaming. The new products under the 'ASUS 3' theme, including the ZenBook 3, will serve as an opportunity to demonstrate ASUS's third leadership in setting a new standard for these trends and changing the paradigm."

In addition, he explained, “The ZenBook 3 will become an essential item for successful people as an uncompromising, perfect premium product, the Transformer 3 Pro will establish itself as a perfect device for work and daily life for early adopters and prosumers, who are particularly numerous in Korea, and the Transformer 3 will establish itself as an item for women and young people who pursue various colors and free styles.”

The newly introduced products are available for pre-order through online stores. The ZenBook 3 is sold exclusively via pre-order on eBay malls Gmarket and Auction, while the Transformer Book is available for pre-order through 11st. An engraving service is available for purchasing customers to personalize their items, and other items such as Bluetooth mice and stylus pens are provided as a free package. Additionally, customers who leave a photo review will be entered into a raffle to win various prizes, including a stay in a Conrad Suite and a coffee machine.
