Introduction to Home IoT, Smart City Pilot Services, and Industrial IoT

LG Uplus (Vice Chairman Kwon Young-soo) announced on the 20th that it will showcase a wide range of industrial IoT services, as well as home IoT and pilot services within smart cities, at the 'Smart City Innovation Summit Asia 2016 (SCISA 2016)' held at KINTEX in Goyang.

'SCISA 2016', which runs until the 22nd, is an IoT exhibition aimed at spreading smart city models, held in Goyang City, an IoT pilot complex selected by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, with approximately 30,000 visitors including city delegations and corporate representatives from over 50 countries.

This exhibition consists of five exhibition halls covering the fields of smart government, smart energy, smart network, smart infrastructure, and smart transportation. LG Uplus has set up promotional booths for Industrial IoT and Home IoT, and will showcase smart city pilot services at the Goyang LG Uplus IoT Convergence City Consortium exhibition hall.

Inside the LG Uplus IoT exhibition hall, the 'IoT@home' service, which is leading the domestic home IoT market with over 400,000 subscriber households, as well as industrial IoT services, are being introduced for the first time.

The industrial IoT services being introduced include 'LTE Customer Dedicated Network,' a high-quality LTE service with enhanced security achieved by establishing dedicated gateways for each customer, and 'Industrial Live Cam,' which enables real-time transmission of video filmed on-site with a smartphone to work PCs or smartphones, and supports the sharing of on-site situations through voice calls between personnel.

In addition, the company will showcase ▲'IoT Vehicle Safety Operation,' an in-factory vehicle management solution that supports safe driving; ▲'IoT On-site Access Management,' a service that detects workers' entry into the site and provides alerts when approaching hazardous areas; and ▲'Smartphone Walkie-Talkie,' a service that utilizes smartphones and Bluetooth accessories to be more affordable, lightweight, and convenient compared to conventional walkie-talkies.

The Home IoT Exhibition Hall is designed to allow visitors to experience various home IoT services, such as open-door detection sensors and gas locks, centering on a high-end IoT hub that connects household IoT devices for use from anywhere and provides omnidirectional long-distance voice recognition capabilities.

At the Goyang LG Uplus IoT Convergence City Consortium exhibition hall, where nine organizations including Goyang City, LG Uplus, and the Goyang Information & Communication Industry Promotion Agency participate to introduce the Goyang Smart City project, ▲Smart City to be applied to major service demonstration areasYou can directly experience the environmental service, the neighborhood pleasantness index service, and the safe parking service.

The Smart City Environment Service consists of park, living, and ecological environment services. It enables citizens to enjoy a pleasant experience by providing air and water quality information and fountain facility management services for Lake Park, a place frequently visited by the public. Additionally, the installation of environmental security lights along walking paths eliminates nighttime blind spots left by existing CCTVs, significantly contributing to crime prevention and citizen safety. For childcare teachers at daycare centers in Goyang City, real-time information on ultrafine dust, UV levels, and weather conditions near the centers is provided to help guide children's outdoor activities.

The Our Neighborhood Comfort Index service installs sensors at key locations throughout Goyang City to measure atmospheric environmental data, such as fine dust, exhaust fumes, and noise, and provides this information in real time.

In addition, a safe parking service is being introduced to resolve illegal parking issues by installing vehicle detection sensors on road curbs and to prevent traffic accidents involving children in school zones and side streets.
