– TI has released the TPD6F202 and TPD4F202, 6-channel and 4-channel electromagnetic interference (EMI) filters for LCD display applications. The electrostatic discharge (ESD) performance of these devices exceeds the IEC 61000-4-2 standard by at least three times for contact discharge. Additionally, air-gap discharge performance is 67% better than the standard. Therefore, signals can be transmitted through the device by filtering high-frequency RF/EMI, which can appear as lines on screens such as LCD displays. The compact size of these devices allows developers to maximize the use of space previously wasted at the bottom of connectors. Target applications include not only LCD display interfaces but also any product requiring RF/EMI filtering on data lines, such as portable applications, mobile phones, LCD interfaces, and video connections.
