Combining RTOS with multiprotocol silicon, tools, and software stacks

Silicon Labs (Country Manager Baek Woon-dal) announced that it has acquired Micrium, a leading real-time operating system (RTOS) software company for the Internet of Things (IoT).

Through this strategic acquisition, the combination of a leading commercial embedded RTOS with Silicon Labs' IoT expertise and solutions will enable developers worldwide to simplify IoT designs. All global semiconductor partners, including companies that do not use Silicon Labs hardware, will continue to leverage Micrium's RTOS and software tools, providing customers with a wide range of options. Micrium plans to provide full support to both new and existing customers.

Founded in 1999, Micrium has consistently maintained its position as a leading company in the field of embedded software. Micrium's unrivaled µC/OS RTOS family is renowned for its reliability, performance, independence, complete source code, and extensive documentation.
