STMicroelectronics’ STM32 Discovery Kit – Setting a New Industry Standard for Low-Cost Tools for 32-Bit MCUs
– STMicroelectronics ( www.st.com , Country Manager for Korea Sung-keun Kang), a global leader in microcontrollers, has released the STM32 Discovery Kit, a hardware development platform that supports the easiest way to get started with design work using 32-bit MCUs. It is priced at less than $10, and free and ultra-low-cost development tools can be downloaded and used from major third-party vendors such as Atollic, IAR, and Keil.
The STM32 Discovery Kit is an ultra-low-cost, user-friendly starter platform specifically suited for the STM32 Value Line MCU family. Powered via USB, it can be plugged into a PC for immediate setup and use. This board is compatible with the 24MHz 64-pin STM32F100RBT6B Value Line product, which features 128KB of flash memory, multiple timers, analog peripherals, and an industry-standard serial interface. The built-in ST-Link in-circuit debugger allows you to start designing without additional cost. Expansion connectors are provided on the board, allowing for convenient connection to other boards or devices to test MCU peripherals in detail. Additionally, 15 ready-to-run applications are available via www.st.com , enabling developers to evaluate the capabilities of the MCU.
"Kyung-hwa Choi, Senior Manager of 32-bit MCU Marketing at STMicroelectronics, said, 'The Discovery Kit is the perfect tool to start designing with ST's STM32 MCU and to evaluate its performance from various angles.'" The Discovery Kit is a fully integrated development tool consisting of a board, debugger, programmer, and compiler. Developer
