Introduction of Diverse Life and Industrial Services such as Fine Dust Monitoring and Village Broadcasting
Smart Home Services Interlocked with Artificial Intelligence Service 'Nugu' Unveiled Newly

SK Telecom will showcase customized services based on a hybrid IoT network, including life and industrial services utilizing dedicated IoT networks and smart home services linked with artificial intelligence, at the '2016 Internet of Things Promotion Week (IoT Week 2016, 10/10~10/14)' hosted by the Ministry of Future Creation.

SK Telecom will establish a standalone booth of 30 units at the 'IoT KOREA Exhibition 2016,' an international IoT exhibition held at COEX for three days from the 12th to 14th as a major event of 'IoT Week,' and will showcase 16 items of life and industrial services utilizing LoRa network, a dedicated IoT network, and LTE-M under the theme 'What is LoRa?'.

SK Telecom will jointly showcase with small and medium enterprises and startups six monitoring services including fine dust monitoring and portable gas detectors based on the LoRa nationwide network commercialized at the end of June, as well as measurement services such as solar power generation monitoring and tracking services such as personnel and asset location management.

Village broadcasting, a large-capacity IoT service network based on LTE-M compared to LoRa, will also make its debut. The village chief can transmit village broadcasts to the community without time and place constraints via a smartphone app or online, and each household with an installed receiver can check the transmitted voice and text broadcasts at any time.

SK Telecom will also showcase smart home services interlocked with the artificial intelligence service 'Nugu.' By linking the 'apartment-type home network system' commonly applied domestically with SK Telecom's smart home, the service enables monitoring or control not only of lighting, heating, and entrance doors within homes but also of common facilities such as unmanned parcel boxes and common entrance cameras. Through 'Nugu,' when the outside mode is executed, lighting and entrance doors are automatically activated.

Meanwhile, SK Telecom will demonstrate the LoRa international roaming technology proposed as a standardization at the LoRa Alliance Seoul General Assembly. It will virtually show real-time confirmation of a situation in which a travel bag equipped with a location tracking device departs from Seoul COEX and arrives in the Grenoble area of France, which is expected to become an important foundational technology for the internationalization of dedicated IoT network services.
