Fairchild's high-voltage gate driver with improved noise immunity and performance
Power engineers designing motors and industrial products, such as motor drive inverters that distribute power supplies and power supplies for communication systems, have come to need an HV gate driver solution that provides improved noise immunity and improved performance, while being able to replace current solutions in terms of pin map.
Fairchild Korea Semiconductor ( www.fairchildsemi.com/kr ) provides the following products to designers to meet these requirements.
FAN7392: 2-input, 2-output High/Low side gate driver with Shutdown function
FAN7393: 1-input, 2-output Half Bridge with Shutdown and Controllable Dead Time functions
FAN73932: 1-input, 2-output Half Bridge with Shutdown and Fixed Dead Time Control functions
FAN73933: 2-input, 2-output Half Bridge with controllable dead time
These components are part of the FAN739X series, featuring an innovative Common mode dv/dt noise reduction circuit that provides improved noise immunity compared to competing solutions and enables stable operation of High Voltage gate drivers under high dv/dt noise environments. These components also feature an advanced level of shift circuitry that provides a High-side gate driver operation with a Negative Vs swinging down to -9.8V (VBS) where Vs is the High voltage Floating supply return and VBS is the High-side Floating supply voltage.
Additionally, the FAN739x series provides stable operation over a wide temperature range of -40° to 125°C. This series also features a floating channel capable of matching propagation delay for both channels, built-in under-voltage lockout for VBS, and bootstrap operation up to 600V. These components also offer Buffer t compared to other low-current HVICs.
